A self-initiated project conceived and produced by Tomek Mąkolski, bringing together a Range Rover, model Natalia Sobieska and a studio set built from translucent plastic sheeting. The series explores the relationship between automotive form, fashion and light.
An everyday material becomes the main visual device. Layers of plastic catch reflections, diffuse light and partially obscure the subjects, creating depth around the car and model. Controlled lighting and a restrained set give the photographs their quiet, cinematic atmosphere.
Photographed at Studio Tęcza, with set design by Aga Janukanis and styling by Milena Bekalarska. The final colour treatment and retouching were developed with Tom Cordes, bringing together colour and black-and-white images within the same series.
